Is my payment secure?

Payments run through Stripe. LEJO does not store bank details. No tracking cookies or advertising tracking.

Yes. Through the link in your confirmation email, you can change or stop your gift at any time.

How does a monthly donation work?

You choose an amount (from €5 per month), enter your details, and make the first payment. After that, the same amount is collected automatically every month through your chosen payment method.

Which payment methods are accepted?

Accepted Answer

Bancontact (recommended for Belgium), iDEAL (Netherlands), and credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express). With Bancontact and iDEAL, a SEPA direct debit is set up after the first payment for the monthly collection.

What is the minimum and maximum amount?

Minimum €5 per month, maximum €10,000 per month.

What appears on my bank statement?

You will see "LEJO VZW" on your bank statement for each monthly collection.

How can I stop my donation?

Accepted Answer

Click the "Manage your donation" link in one of your confirmation emails. Then choose "Stop donation" and confirm. You receive a confirmation email. You can become a donor again at any time.

Can I change the monthly amount?

Yes. Go to your management page through the link in your email and choose "Change amount". The change applies from the next collection (minimum €5, maximum €10,000).

I did not receive a confirmation email. What now?

Check your spam folder. Our emails are sent from info@lejo.be. If you have not received anything after 15 minutes, contact us at info@lejo.be or +32 9 223 21 54.

I cannot find my management link anymore. How do I get a new one?

Accepted Answer

Go to doneer.lejo.be/beheer and enter your email address. If you have an active donation, we send you a new management link within a few minutes.

What happens if a payment fails?

You receive an email with an explanation. This can happen because of insufficient funds or a technical issue at your bank. You can start a new donation through the link in the email.

Question 13

What is a tax certificate?

A tax certificate is an official document that lets you deduct eligible donations from Belgian taxes. You receive 30% of the yearly donated amount back through your tax return.

Do I qualify for a tax certificate?

Yes, if your total donations in a calendar year are at least €40 (from €3.34 per month). LEJO vzw is recognized by the Belgian Federal Public Service Finance (company number 0420.358.606).

Why do you ask for my Belgian national register number?

Accepted Answer

Since 2024, the national register number is legally required for Belgian tax certificates. Without it, the Belgian tax administration cannot process the certificate through Belcotax-on-web. The number is stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM) and only used for your tax certificate.

When do I receive my tax certificate?

In spring, you receive the tax certificate for the previous calendar year by email. You can use it for your Belgian tax return.

Which data is stored?

Your name, email address, address, and donation amounts. If you request a tax certificate, we also store your Belgian national register number in encrypted form. LEJO never stores bank details - Stripe does that.

Is my data shared with third parties?

Only with Stripe (payments, Dublin), Brevo (email, Paris), and Hetzner (hosting, Germany). All are within the EU and covered by processor agreements. We never sell data.

How can I have my data deleted?

Send an email to privacy@lejo.be. We delete your data within 30 days unless a legal retention obligation applies (7 years for tax data).
